Bruce Alphey

Australian Sports Medal – Year: 2000

Bruce was a former player and administrator with St Andrews Cricket Club – Footscray. He served the Association for many years as a delegate for his club and filled many executive positions including President for four years, Vice Chairman and Assistant Manager of the carnival side to Adelaide in 1986/1987.  He was awarded Life Membership of the Association for his services in 1983/1984 for his outstanding service.

Claude Dunn

Australian Sports Medal – Year: 2000

Claude played with the Yarraville Baptist and Kingsville Baptist Cricket Clubs for 63 years and served as a delegate to the Association and Office-bearer of the Yarraville Baptists Club until 1954.  He was a Foundation Member of the Kingsville Baptists Cricket Club in 1955 and served in positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer of that club and delegate for 63 years.  He served 16 years as Association Secretary and 14 years as Association President.  Represented the Association as a player in 6 Interstate Carnivals and was Captain once and Vice Captain on four other occasions.  He also served as President of the newly formed West Metro Junior Cricket Association for 5 years.  Was appointed a Life Member of the Association in 1967/1968 for his outstanding service.

Geoff Gook

Australian Sports Medal – Year: 2000

Geoff played with Tottenham Baptists in both Junior and Senior Levels.  He later played with Kingsville Baptists as Captain and Coach.  He represented Tottenham at Association meetings and then joined the Association Executive.  He later took on the role of Secretary/Administrator and has filled the position for 28 years.  Geoff is also a carnival representative during the 1970’s and has also filled the Administrator’s role with the West Metro Junior Cricket Association for 7 years.  Was appointed Life Member of the Association in 1986/1987 for his outstanding service.

Kevin Hardeman

Australian Sports Medal – Year: 2000

Kevin played his early cricket with Yarraville Baptist Cricket Club and then onto Kingsville Baptists Cricket Club.  He was for many years a Club Delegate to the Association and served on a number of Executive Committees.  For 23 continuous years he was Association Treasurer and he managed a number of Association Carnivals and Under 21 C.O.U.V. / V.M.C.U. sides.  He was selected in one Carnival side and also a number of Inter Association matches.  Was appointed Life Member of the Association in 1990/1991 for his outstanding service.

Jack Law

Order of Australia – Season 1997/1998

Australian Sports Medal – Year: 2000
Jack played for the Barkly Street Methodist Club from 1944 and he also represented his club as a Delegate and later on as Association Executive.  For many years he maintained the Association performance records as Senior Records Secretary and was also Manager of 14 Interstate Carnival sides.  His service to the Association spans some 56 years and Jack’s own Club recognized his worth when they nominated him for the Order of Australia Medal for his loyal service to his club.  Was appointed Life Member of the Association in 1973/1974 for his outstanding service.
